The child of Alishan
Min Han Hsieh was born in Alishan in 1984 and was a diligent student in his younger age. His efforts were worthwhile; therefore, he had ultimately graduated and got the master’s degree in the Institute of Computer and Communication Engineering.
Continuous Tea Culture
Before Min Han decided what to do in the future, he was still like a drifting and bewildered leaf. Even though he went home helping family tea work in his free time during college years, he still didn't have much enthusiasm for the tea industry. However, after he graduated from master’s school, a simple conversation between Min Han and his father became a turning point in his life which made him rethink about his future. He then decided to go back to the family tea industry, as if the leaf had found its home. He was influenced unconsciously by family tea industry, making him be more responsible for this business as he had a mission to let more people know about his family oolong tea.
Build the brand
However, at the beginning of "CHA-YAN Tea" had a big challenge. It wasn’t easy to convince Min Han’s parents to create a tea brand. They wouldn’t want to spend money on investing a brand of their own.
Therefore, with limited funds, Min Han had to proceed step by step. And he gradually built the brand “Cha Yan Tea” after three years’ effort.
Unique tea taste
Having gone through the process of learning tea-making under a master, evaluating each batch of tea leaves, receiving feedback from customers, participating in tea competitions, and engaging in tea courses, Min Han claims that he learns about tea knowledges from mistakes and setbacks. He even smiled as he told us that it was a great process. Min Han and his wife Tina appreciate the initial difficulties because those experiences strengthened their belief in transforming into a brand.
